About

Paul Otto

I make no claims to being a great historian, deep thinker, professionally trained theologian, or broadly informed music lover.  By I certainly have interests in all those areas and what ties them together, as much as anything, is my embrace of reformational thinking.

When I first began this blog, in 2005 on Blogger, my intention was to create a clearing house of reformed and reformational blogs and websites and to create a place for some conversation about reformational ideas.  I’ve been too inconsistant a blogger and others have been more effective at providing such a clearing house for my blog to have much impact as I at first hoped.  But I still like a place to share what’s on my mind, usually inspired by the philosophical underpinnings to my thinking, and so I keep blogging off and on and have recently migrated over to WordPress to better facilitate my blogging.

Hi Mr Otto. Came across your blog when doing some research on Oswald Chambers. Am familiar with George Fox University. I’m a native Oregonian and lived, between the years of 1976 and 1981 in Dallas, Oregon. I like your blog and can see there is much for me to study here. Can you tell me which community the picture at the top of this page is of? Thanks for this blog. Best regards, Brad Roby, Johannesburg, South Africa.

    Paul,

Love your blog! I studied philosophy from a reformed perspective at Calvin College from H. Evan Runner, who introduced me to Kuyper and Dooyeweerd 32 years ago. I am thrilled that you are promoting their distinctive Christian worldview here online.

Tell me, what is the city featured on your blog image? It reminds me of certain cities I know in Utah…

    Sincerely,

    Eric Wright

  3. This is a view of the San Fernando Valley from the parking lot of Bel Air Presbyterian Church. Immediately in the foreground is Sherman Oaks, and just to right of center and a bit further back is Reseda, where I was born.
